Throughout this position, I have also solely managed all of the Honors College social media and redefined the branding. When I came into the position it was disorganized and lacked unity in branding, but I was able to establish and reframe this under a specific branding guide that allows all content, even if using different color themes or elements, to flow aesthetically while still communicating relevant information to all of its audiences. I have also created new ways of approaching the Honors social media, joining the account in parent Facebook groups to answer questions about the Honors College through an official university platform. In this role, I ran the Honors College's Instagram and Facebook, as well as created/ran the college's LinkedIn page.

While this Undergraduate Fellowship used to be filled by two students, I was able to successfully fulfill all of the responsibilities of this position. I was responsible for writing, editing, and publishing blog posts for the Honors College website. I published a mix of faculty spotlights, student features, extracurricular groups, Honors events, career readiness articles, and more. I have improved my skills with website SEO and data analytics, which are used in the making of each blog post and analysis.

Throughout the summer of 2023, I also help with the Honors College portion of Orientation for incoming students. Whether this is administrative in organizing mailers or email blasts for incoming students or a more student-based resource in answering questions during information and advising sessions, my adaptability and ability to make a personalized experience for each incoming student help Orientation to be a successful experience for all faculty, staff, current students, incoming freshman, and prospective guardians/parents.

As a current student in the Honors College, I make a great first point of contact for high school students and their parents who may be interested in the Honors College. These meetings effectively communicate all aspects of the Honors College, from curriculum to dorm living to the unique benefits and opportunities that pertain solely to the Honors student experience. 

While assisting at the front desk, it is my responsibility to be a cheerful representative of the Honors College in all correspondence, from scheduling appointments to checking people in, to answering difficult questions from parents. Being trained on FERPA laws, I handle sensitive information pertaining to students and their education on a daily basis and thus must be cautious when disclosing any information to outside parties. Within this position, I also handle a lot of responsibilities that are either difficult or overlap in some way, which requires me to be quick on my feet in thinking up creative solutions for unique problems.

In the Fall of 2023, the Student Assistant positions will give way to a new full-time staff Secretary position, as well as a new Dean following Dean Emert's retirement. While it may seem like a conflict of interest, I was asked to join the Hiring Committee as a student representative in the candidacy process for both of these positions. I not only sat in on these interviews, I asked questions of each candidate and was able to influence the choice of staff/faculty based on my perspective as an Honors student.
